Established in 2011 by Matt & Joy Thayer of Speropictures as a place for our students to showcase their films, FFF has quickly grown into a local leader in all things film. Our team works each year in tandem with other local & state organizations to attract filmmakers to the region, highlight the incredible weather and natural resources as well as the unique shooting locations that Northern California has to offer.
We are actively involved in cultivating a vibrant community of diverse filmmaking talent who are committed to mastering their crafts. The Firereel Film Festival is an Oscar-esque event, complete with skits, costume changes and a full-on red carpet awards ceremony. We accept films from all over the world in our extravagant event.

Firereel Film Festival is a fiscal project of the Shasta County Arts Council, a 501c3 nonprofit corporation which has been invigorating the arts through education, support and practice for 35 years in Shasta County. We are a partner to the California Arts Council, a state agency, and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
